Literature Text

we sleep where the sun worships your touch,
          where the moonbeams
          and midnight silhouettes
          promise everything
          and words disappear
beneath the strokes of your fingertips painting skin.

was that promise true, my love?
          the one you grazed
          across my neck at dawn?

you light up my fantasies with kisses
          as you catch my eye
          with two whispering looks,
and i guess i must have lingered
over the tears of morning's parting.

remember the world, cupid,
and the ways we'd scream of love?

together, we have let the sky slumber,
          entwined at the ankles
          with midnight's lost stars.

but the dark always comes between us
          when we close our palms
          and dream in pastel hues.

and tell me,
          do you smile
          when sweetdream wishes die?

because i feel all of them, angel.
          like daggers to the heart,
          they scar my soul.

and i guess i need to get away from this;
          a new love awaits
          just over that horizon line
and he's bound to treat me right.

he's bound to make me fly.
The sixth installment to both 100 Themes Challenges.

THe drawn portion was done for the theme Break Away, while the written portion was done for New Love.

And yes, I used a lot of my poem from the magnetic poem I just posted for this piece. I simply elaborated.

A new love is just another break away.
