April is almost upon us, and us Admin feel it's high time we try to kick this group back into high gear, so here's the scoop:
Will run from April 1st to May 1st.
Poetry AND Prose accepted--you may enter one of each, if you'd like, but can only WIN one of the categories (i.e. if you win for poetry, you can't win for prose). Prose must be NO MORE than 2000 words; Poetry NO MORE than 60 lines.
Your judges are betwixtthepages, DailyBreadCafe, and SurrealCachinnation
A prize donation will not keep you from participating/winning.
You MUST this journal AND include a description of/link to this contest to participate.
Your entries will be judged and awarded points based on the following: Creativity, Technique, and Theme.
Open to members AND non-members.
MUST be a new piece (written and submitted after April 1st).
Fan fiction will not be accepted.
If using mature content, be sure to use the filter AND BE REASONABLE--I don't want to read smut, guys.
Judges are not allowed to enter the contest, but may respond to the prompts if they'd like.
"My mother never ..."
"No one knew how to kill a conversation better than ____ ..."
"An unusual circus"
"Taking pity on the Gods"
As you can see, all of these can be written as either poetry or prose. WE DO ASK that you THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX for all of these prompts--I don't particularly want twenty stories about an awkward computer tech with bad social skills, or thirty poems about a circus of fleas. Be creative, yes?

When will the results be announced?
My iPad decided commenting three times was a good idea-I apologize for that little mix-up.
This is too good not to write something for it. It'll be a good way to get back into my groove, as well-I'm sure I'll be able to think of something wonderful.
Entered! It just looked too good!
