Late comment, but as a Type 1...things like this make me incredibly nervous. I mean, I get that some people think they're great and all, but they've always seemed to me like they're spreading the idea that everyone has to be aware, and furthermore, they often get lumped in with that "It's okay to ask people questions about their health, and people should be honest and tell everyone about them". Which makes me both nervous and pissed off. I don't want to be a spokesperson, an educator, or defined by something that to me is a remarkably small part of how I define myself, because I didn't choose it.
